Ernie Harris

Ernie Harris, age 54, a resident of rural Pennville, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at his sister’s home in rural Pennville.  

Ernie was born on June 6, 1967, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Basil Harris Jr. and Bobbie (Roark) Harris. Ernie graduated from Jay County High School in 1985. He owned and operated Harris Tree Service for several years. 

Survivors include:

Two daughters — Chelsea Jean Harris, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Sydney Rae Harris, Muncie, Indiana 

Sister — Robbie Ray (husband: Rob), rural Pennville, Indiana 

Brother — Jack Harris, Hartford City, Indiana 

Sister — Carol Harris, Hartford City, Indiana 

Nieces and nephews — Todd, Jason, Stacy, Terry, Lance, Tonya, Erin and Tyler. 

He was preceded in death by his father Basil Harris Jr. and a brother, Eric Harris. 

Services to celebrate Ernie’s life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Briar Patch in Pennville
