Obituary
Roger Gilbert Erwin, 80, Dunkirk, passed away Thursday at his home. He was born on Feb. 23, 1941, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Quentin Samuel Erwin and Rose (Hedge) Burton.
Roger met Deloris Sammons, and they married on Nov. 28, 1958. Roger worked for 37 years in maintenance for Indiana Glass in Dunkirk before his retirement in 2001.
Roger is survived by his wife of 62½ years, Deloris (Sammons) Erwin of Dunkirk; one daughter, Melinda Jane Erwin; three sons, Gilbert Martin Erwin (Lisa) of Dunkirk, Emil Lee Erwin (Secrena) of Indianapolis and Quentin Allen Erwin (Marsha) of Anderson; one sister, Jackie Erwin of Kentucky; one brother, Norman Burton of Kentucky; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Quentin Samuel Erwin and Rose (Hedge) Burton; three sisters, Jane Reed, Patricia Schuler and Verna Erwin; two brothers, Ernest Burton and Glenn Burton; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie, with funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m., also in the funeral home, officiated by Robert Thompson. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
