Rodger Cliff

Rodger Leon Cliff, 84, residing in Sandusky, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at Stein Hospice Care Center.
Rodger was born on Aug. 28, 1936, in Elyria, Ohio, to the late Ray and Dollie (Ahlgrim) Cliff. Rodger graduated from Elyria High School in 1954. He then furthered his education and received a bachelor of arts in general science from Hiram College and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University.
Rodger was a pharmacist at Good Samaritan Hospital, Sandusky, for 23 years.
Mr. Cliff was co-owner of Sandusky Apothecary in Sandusky. He and his wife worked for several years at various church and 4-H camps before he accepted the position of lead pharmacist at Jay County Hospital in Portland, Indiana. After retiring from the hospital he went on to work as a staff pharmacist at Hanlin’s and Walmart's in the Portland area.
Rodger was a member of St. Stephen UCC for 55 years, where he was past president of the church council and participated in the choir. He was also a former member of the Board of Directors of Leadership Academy, American Society of Health System Pharmacists, Huron-Erie County Pharmaceutical Association, Ohio Society of Hospital Pharmacists, American Pharmaceutical Association, board member of Wapehani Girl Scout Council and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America.
Rodger is survived by his daughter, Wendi (Thomas) Agsten of Sandusky; sons Rodger M. “Mike” (Corinne “Cory”) Cliff of Lorain, Ohio, and Craig (Sarah Freeman) Cliff of Maumee, Ohio; special friend Ruth Novak of Sandusky; grandchildren Lindsey (Danielle) McIntyre, Vanessa (Kevin) Link, Rory Agsten, Ryan Cliff, Elora (Tyler Owens) Agsten, Zack (Hannah Allen) Cliff and Evan Cliff; and great-grandchildren Karly-Anna, Logan, Mason, Envy, Grayson and Julian; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rodger was preceded in death by his wife, Kay A. (Hazelton) Cliff on Nov. 12, 2003; brother Eugene Cliff in 2020; and daughter-in-law Regan Cliff in 2018.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. at St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium immediately following the service. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
