Obituary
Nilah Hudson, age 79, a resident of Salamonia, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Albany Health and Rehabilitation in Albany.
Nilah was born on Nov. 12, 1941, in Jay County, the daughter of John and Eunice (Denny) Landers. She married Waldo James Hudson Sr. on Jan. 7, 1960.
Survivors include:
Her husband — Waldo Hudson Sr., Salamonia, Indiana
Three sons — Waldo Hudson Jr. (wife: Rebecca), rural Portland, Indiana, Tim Hudson (wife: Ruth Ann), Portland, Indiana, and Doug Hudson, Salamonia, Indiana
One daughter: Cathy Hudson – Kokomo, Indiana
Son-in-law — Dave Clevenger, Pennville, Indiana
One sister — Margaret Gra, Hartford City, Indiana
Nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Clevenger, and several sisters and brothers.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Nilah’s life will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Bruce Phillips will officiate the service and burial will follow in Salamonia Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Portland First Church of the Nazarene.
