Jerry L. Bell Jr., age 57, of Portland passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Hartford City, Indiana, on July 19, 1963, the son of Jerry and Carolyn (Wyatt) Bell Sr. He was married on June 3, 1989, to Krystal Jackson who survives.
He graduated from Jay County High School in 1982 and was retired from Berne Security after 30 years. He also worked at Second Chance Ministries with recovering addicts helping them with the road to recovery.
Surviving are his wife Krystal; one son, Zachary Bell (wife: Jessica) of Urbana, Illinois; his mother Carolyn Bell of Portland; one brother, Timmie Bell of Portland; one sister, Deanna Cline (husband: Trent) of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Corina Boice.
Celebration of life services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor David Keen presiding. The family will receive guests from 10 to 11 a.m.
