Obituary
Charles Max Bricker, age 74, of Fort Wayne, and formerly of Leo, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Portland on Dec. 19, 1946, the son of Frank and Mary (Upp) Bricker. He was married on Nov. 18, 1967, to Connie L. Rockwell and she passed away on April 20, 2010. He then married Janet Ruger on March 25, 2020, and she survives.
Max was a retired mechanical engineer with Service Champ. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a 1964 Portland High School graduate, a member of American Legion Post #409, a hospice volunteer at Parkview Hospital and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife Janet; two sons, Charles Bricker (wife: LeeAnn) of Zionsville and Cullen Bricker of Indianapolis; one brother, Paul Bricker (wife: Karen) of Portland; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland with Pastor Tom Ream presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery with military graveside honors. Visitation will be Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. and one hour prior to the services.
Memorials can be made to any veterans organization (Wounded Warrior, Tunnel 2 Towers, etc.)
