Jay County Development Corporation is ready for 2022.
At a special meeting Monday, the organization approved its budget for next year, elected officers and elected 10 directors.
Jay County Development Corporation’s budget for 2022 is down slightly from this year, coming in at $306,650. That’s a $3,000 decrease.
The decrease came in the area of salaries, which went down about $5,000. (Christy Shauver was hired as director of Jay County Community Development in June. She replaced Ami Huffman, who had been in the role for 15 years.)
There were slight increases in other line items, including advertising/marketing.
The board also re-elected Doug Loy as president for a two-year term. Ron Laux (vice president), Trent Paxson (treasurer) and Barb Street (secretary) were all elected to one-year terms.
Re-elected as directors were Tabby Sprunger, John Boggs, Jack Robbins, Jeanne Houchins, Mike Fisher, Paxson and Street. Newly elected to the board of directors were Chad Towell (Towell Show Pigs), Pete Byrum (Jay County REMC) and Ryan Johnson (Glass Capital Grill).
