Obituary
Mary Ann (Mattingly) Horine-Jones, 85, of Redkey, Indiana, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, with her daughter by her side at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Albany, Indiana.
Mary was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on Dec. 30, 1935, a daughter of the late Aletha Gertrude (Clifford) and Raymond A. Mattingly. She was a 1953 graduate of Redkey High School and the loving wife of the late Jay Ronald Horine whom she happily married in February 1957. She was a member of the Redkey Christian Church, Gama Nu Sorority and a devoted wife and mother.
Mary was a very active woman who enjoyed antiquing, dancing, roller skating, swimming, ice skating, boating, playing cards, watching movies with her friends, helping with church activities, reading her Bible, listening to music, being outdoors in the sun and traveling. She loved hosting family gatherings, would do anything for you and enjoyed spending time with people, laughing, having fun and caring for others, and was the best friend anyone could ask for.
Mary is survived by three children, Kimberly Sue (Horine) Lloyd (husband: Jody), Tamara Lea (Horine) Kennard and Lance Carlton Horine; one sister, Doris Reynolds; nine grandchildren, Derek, Devin, Drew, Logan, Nicolis, Patrick, Daniel, Kyler and Jacqueline; 11 great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law Sue Bates of Redkey, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jay Ronald Horine; one son, Kipp Bradley Horine; two brothers, Raymond Mattingly Jr. and Robert Mattingly; and one sister, Marie Landess.
Mary Ann later married Roy Jones of Yorktown, Indiana. He also preceded her in death.
Services are private at the convenience of the family and will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at Riley Children's Hospital.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel.
