Jayden Comer nearly beat the Jets by himself.
Comer scored 16 points to lead the Jay County Junior High School seventh grade boys basketball team to a 45-16 victory against Adams Central on Tuesday.
Jay County’s eighth grade team lost, 35-25.
The Patriot seventh grade team limited the Jets to no more than six points in a quarter, and allowed just two in the third. Benson Barnett had eight points for the Patriots (1-1), while Joe Geesaman hauled in 17 rebounds.
Carter Fugiett and Gradin Swoveland had six points apiece for the Jay County eighth graders (1-1).

Jay County’s eighth grade girls basketball team outscored Adams Central 10-4 in the fourth quarter en route to a 26-25 victory on Tuesday.
The seventh graders suffered a 29-8 defeat.
Alexis Sibray totaled nine points to lead the eighth graders (1-1), who trailed 11-6 after the first quarter and went point-for-point with the Jets in the second and third periods before the rally.
Rinah Cross contributed seven points, and Mya Kunkler added six points.
Ella Rigby had four points to lead the seventh grade team (0-2).
