Robert C. Ralston, 91, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away at 9:13 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at Adams Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur, Indiana.
He was born on Tuesday, July 29, 1930, in Adams County, Indiana. He married Mary A. (Kelly) Ralston on Saturday, Feb. 27, 1954 in Bryant, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 2009.
Robert attended school in Geneva, Indiana. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Franklin Electric, Bluffton, Indiana, in 1992.
He was a charter member of the VFW, Geneva, Indiana, and the Berne American Legion Post 468. Robert enjoyed playing euchre, riding his Harley Davidson across the country, hunting and fishing. He was an Abate & Hog member.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Bonnie (Joe) Patch, Geneva, Indiana; son, Donald (Beth) Ralston, Bryant, Indiana; grandchildren, Sarah LeMaster, Linn Grove, Indiana, Cassandra Hall, Columbus, Indiana, James Wheeler IV, Bluffton, Indiana, Damon Ralston, Indianapolis, and Robert Ralston, Jonesboro, Indiana; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Ralston; mother, Mabel (Cook) Ralston; wife, Mary A. (Kelly) Ralston; and 10 siblings.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva, Indiana, on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021.
A service to celebrate his life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, with Marvin Schwartz officiating. Interment will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva. Military rites will be conducted by the Geneva VFW and the Berne American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
Arrangements are being handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.
