More Winterfest fun set
After a big opening weekend, there is still plenty of holiday spirit left for Winterfest.
Jay County Chamber of Commerce’s annual celebration continues in December, beginning with the Candy Canine 5K at 9 a.m. Dec. 4.
The 5K — the entry fee is $10 for those 10 and younger and $20 for those 11 and older — will begin at Jay Community Center. The regular run/walk begins at 9 a.m. with a dog walk to follow at 9:30 a.m.
Winterfest home tours are scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 5. Tickets are $5.
Winterfest at the Fairgrounds is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 12 at Jay County Fairgrounds. It will feature carriage rides, cookie decorating, ornament making, live music and a visit from Santa Claus.
Santa will also be at the Santa house on Main Street from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and Dec. 10.
Looking for help
Mercer County Angel Tree is currently looking for help with purchasing gifts, volunteering time and providing financial support.
The Angel Tree program partners with various local groups to provide Christmas gifts for families in need.
Those interested in purchasing gifts can take an angel tree gift tag, purchase the gifts and deliver them by Dec. 6. Those interested in donating financially can send checks or drop off donations to 117 W. Fayette St., Celina, Ohio.
Volunteers, who will be needed to set up, sort gifts and “shop” with parents Dec. 7 through 10, can call (419) 586-3645.
For more information, call (419) 586-4663.
