Jeannette L. Loy, age 80, of Portland passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, in Miller’s Merry Manor in Dunkirk.
She was born in Jay County on June 25, 1941, the daughter of Vernon “Pete” and Anna Louise (Stroube) Loy. She was retired from Marsh Supermarkets, where she had worked as a cashier.
Jeannette enjoyed crocheting, card games and her grandchildren, for whom she would make milkshakes.
Surviving are one daughter, Hope Nixon (husband: Dave Weesner) of Portland; six grandchildren, Dustin Huftel (wife: Megan), Devon Huftel (wife: Randon), Colton Huftel (wife: Janina), Corbin Huftel (wife: Jen), Mackenna VanSkyock (companion: Ethan Bruggeman) and Menausha VanSkyock (companion: Trevor Homan); 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Smith presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Memorials can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Riley Children’s Hospital.
