There’s plenty of Christmas spirit at the library.
Jay County Public Library has a long list of holiday-themed events set up for December, including a visit from Santa Claus from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 13. Children will get to sit on Sant’s lap and meet Mrs. Claus and Santa’s reindeer.
The library will also show classic Christmas movies this month with “Miracle on 34th Street” at 2 p.m. Friday, “White Christmas” at 2 p.m. Dec. 14 and “A Christmas Carol” at 2 p.m. Dec. 22.
Other activities scheduled for this month include:
•Gingerbread Village Kids Shopping Night, 5 to 7 p.m. Monday — Children from 4 years old through third grade will be able to “buy” two gifts. The participating children will be asked to read or check out a holiday book, write a letter to Santa, decorate a cookie and take a selfie with the library’s gingerbread man.
•Cookies and Canvas, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 — Jay County Farm Bureau is partnering with the library for an event during which they will paint a Christmas tree, enjoy cookies and learn about farming processes involved with Christmas traditions.
