Another senior learning series event is scheduled for Nov. 4, when The Portland Foundation executive director Doug Inman will discuss the 70-year history of the organization.
Work on display
Arts Place’s Blackford County Arts Center is hosting the exhibit “Splinters and Threads” by woodworker Mark Twigg and weaver Sherry Studebaker. Twigg is a Portland native.
The exhibit, which runs through Oct. 21, is open from 3 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Blackford County Arts Center is located at 107 W. Washington St., Hartford City.
Internships available
Applications are open to serve as an intern at the Indiana Statehouse.
The Republican and Democratic parties in Indiana are accepting applications for internships for the 2022 legislative session.
The internships are open to current college students and recent college graduates. They are available in various areas, including policy, communication, fiscal analysis and others.
Those interested can apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com and indianahousedemocrats.org. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31.
Exhibit is open
“Open Space: Art About the Land” is on display at Minnetrista in Muncie.
The exhibit encourages Indiana artists to take creative inspiration from the land. Betsy Stirratt, founding director of the Grunwald Gallery of Art at Indiana University, served as juror for the show.
The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. It will run through Nov. 7.
