Obituary
Philip A. Rowles, age 71, of Portland passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Portland on March 18, 1950, the son of John and Betty (Powell) Rowles Jr. He was married June 8, 1968, to Nan Montgomery who survives.
Phil retired from CenturyLink in 2010 and was a member of Portland Elks Lodge, Portland Moose Lodge, Portland Eagles Lodge and American Legion. He was a 1968 Portland High School graduate and completed several telecommunication courses.
Phil was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also was an avid motorcyclist.
Surviving are his wife Nan; one son, Zachery Rowles (wife: Stacy) of Portland; one daughter, Gretchen N. Miller of Commerce City, Colorado; one brother, James Rowles (wife: Bonnie) of Portland; two sisters, Carolyn Bush of Decatur and Tina Minnich (husband: John) of Bryant; four grandchildren, Zachary Miller (wife: Beth), Brenna Rowles, Kasen Rowles and Kamdyn Rowles; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers Bill, Steve, John, Dennis, David and Robbie.
Memorial services will be Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at 7 p.m. in Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Borders presiding. The family will receive guests from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday.
