Shane Starr

Shane D. Starr, age 45, a resident of Dunkirk, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Shane never met a stranger, was an incredible story teller and always had a quick sarcastic remark handy. He loved riding ATV’s and being with his family.
Shane was born on April 13, 1976, in Portland, the son of Marvin and Sally (Hart) Starr. He graduated from Jay County High School in 1994 and earned an associate’s degree from Vincennes University.
Shane worked for Belimed as a field service tech for Indiana. Shane attended Westchester United Methodist Church and was a member of Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association.
He married Myia Wilson on Sept. 26, 1998.

His children — Emily and Joshua Starr, Dunkirk, Indiana
His father — Marvin Starr, Portland, Indiana
Two sisters — Cindy Stashenko (husband: Gregg), Asheville, North Carolina, and Nicci Starr, Fishers, Indiana
One brother — Heath Starr, Portland, Indiana
His in-laws — Gary and Mary Wilson, Dunkirk, Indiana
Sisters-in-laws — Amanda Chaffins (husband: Randy), Portland, Indiana, and Katherine Luong (husband: Michael), Muncie, Indiana
One niece — Ralyn Chaffins
Four nephews — Samuel and Jonathan Stashenko, and Edward and Harrison Luong
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Starr, in 2018.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Shane’s life will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Westchester United Methodist Church, 4487 E. 400 North, Portland, Indiana. Burial will follow at Westchester Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association.
