Chad Ridenour
Obituary
Chad Aaron Ridenour, 46, of Portland, Indiana passed away on Oct. 15, 2021, at his residence.
He was born on June 14, 1975, in Decatur, Indiana, to the late Richard L. “Yogg” Ridenour and Jayne (Suman) Ridenour of Portland, Indiana.
Chad was a self-employed independent contractor. He received training in law enforcement areas specializing in explosive detection dog handling and handler experiences. He used his training in several overseas assignments where he would supervise handlers, soldiers and law enforcement personnel in various situations. He was a former law enforcement officer with Portland Police Department and Redkey Police Department and was currently employed in management at Silvertown Mint in Winchester.
Chad really enjoyed his family and truly loved them in everything that he did. He had a great sense of humor — making people laugh was a specialty with his stories, which may or may not have been true.
In his spare time, Chad was a workout-aholic. He also enjoyed anything to do with firearms and target shooting.
He was deeply loyal to not only his family, but also anything that he supported. He was also the consummate “hugger,” whether the intended victim liked it or not.
Chad is survived by his soulmate, Markie Runyon of Portland, Indiana; a son, Grayson Ridenour; at home; stepdaughter Daila Runyon, at home; stepdaughter Remi LeMaster, at home; step-daughter Jolee LeMaster, at home; mother Jayne Ridenour of Portland, Indiana; brother Brad (Hope) Ridenour of Portland, Indiana, and brother Adam (Kelli) Ridenour of Dunkirk, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father Yogg Ridenour.
