Obituary
Charles W. “Charlie” Frasher, 76, of Anderson, passed away on Oct.r 16, 2021, in Anderson. He was born on May 20, 1945, in Muncie, Indiana, to Eldon and Evelyn Frasher.
Charlie graduated from Governor I. P. Gray High School in Portland, Indiana. Charlie served in the U.S. Army.
He had worked as a manager for Western Southern Life Insurance Company and was a salesperson for Gaddis Chrysler in Muncie.
Charlie had been the commander of the Daleville American Legion and was the Chef de Gare of the 40 & 8 in Yorktown. He enjoyed spending time in the hills of Tennessee every fall, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and trading cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kyle Frasher in 1997; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Grace and Jess Auker.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jackie (Auker) Frasher, whom he married on Feb. 8, 1969, in Winchester, Indiana. He is also survived by his daughter, Tonya DeSpain (Mitchell), Stockton, California; his grandchildren, Olivia and Tyler DeSpain, Stockton, California; his brother, David Frasher (Anita), Portland, Indiana; and his sister, Dixie Clisby (Ted), Jacksonville, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, 221 N. Meridian St., Portland, Indiana, with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
