Podcaster hosting launch party in Redkey
Taking Note
An Indiana truck driver, musician and podcaster, will visit Redkey this week.
Paul Marhoefer, also known as Long Haul Paul, will hold an album release celebration at 8 p.m. Friday at Key Palace Theatre in Redkey.
Marhoefer, a Losantville resident, was nominated for a Jesse H. Neil Award this year for his podcast, “Over the Road.” The podcast, an eight-part series that is a collaboration with Overdrive Magazine and PRX/Radiotopia, seeks to give a voice to the trials and triumphs of America’s long-haul truckers. It features personal essays, interviews and original songs by Marhoefer.
At the event Friday, Marhoefer will perform several of the stories as well as songs that were inspired by “Over the Road.” Cello player Michael Rondstadt, Indiana poet Michael Brockley and Ric Dwenger will also perform.

Symphony scheduled
Muncie Symphony Orchestra will perform a live accompaniment to “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horrors” at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 as part of Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ “Historically Haunted October Series.”
“Nosferatu” is a 1922 silent film that closely mirrors Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.” The show is recommended for those 13 and older.
