Turning accident
A Montpelier man turned his motorcycle in front of oncoming traffic, causing a collision about 6:55 p.m. Thursday.
Spencer E. Hamilton, 21, was pulling out of a parking lot across the street from 155 Washington St. in Pennville when he pulled in front of a 2006 Dodge Caravan driven by 52-year-old Anthony E. Hill of Pennville. Hamilton tried to stop his 2000 Harley Davidson XL 1200 Series but slid in the gravel and struck Hill’s vehicle.
Damage is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Bus collision
A Fort Recovery semi driver’s sideview mirror smashed into the side of a Jay School Corporation bus about 6:37 a.m. Monday.
Briana L. Blanton, 31, Portland, was driving a 2013 school bus east on county road 900 South near county road 300 East when the mirror on a westbound 2015 Freightliner semi truck, driven by 65-year-old Wayne A. Jutte, collided with the bus.
No injuries were listed in the Jay County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
Damage is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500. The semi Blanton was driving is registered to Flat Rock Transport of
