It’s alive, and it’s coming to Arts Place.
Harmony Players of Muncie will be performing the musical “Young Frankenstein” beginning at 7:30 p.m. today at Jay County Campus of Arts Place.
The musical depicts a young neurosurgeon after inheriting the castle of his grandfather, Dr. Victor von Frankenstein. Although he doesn’t initially believe in his grandfather’s work, Frederick finds the doctor’s notes describing his reanimation experiment and quickly changes his mind, according to an Arts Place press release.
Performances for the PG-13 show are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, as well as 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28, 29 and 30, and 2 p.m. Oct. 31 at Arts Place.
Tickets are available online at artsplace.org, by phone at (260) 726-4809 or at the door for $10.
Wine and crafts
Jay Community Center will host a wine and craft event from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 5.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for senior citizens. Admission includes craft supplies, two glasses of wine and hor d’oeuvres.
Funds raised by the event will go into senior programming for the community center. An extra two glasses of wine can be purchased for $4.
Participants must register for the event by Oct. 29.
Internships available
Applications are open to serve as an intern at the Indiana Statehouse.
The Republican and Democratic parties in Indiana are accepting applications for internships for the 2022 legislative session.
The internships are open to current college students and recent college graduates. They are available in various areas, including policy, communication, fiscal analysis and others.
Those interested can apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com and indianahousedemocrats.org. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31.
Library activities
Jay County Public Library has a variety of fall-themed activities scheduled for October.
The library will host its last session of Murder Mystery Mondays on Oct. 25, with mystery kits available for patrons to check out. There will also be true crime quizzes, and at 6 p.m. there will be a murder and mystery movie event with the showing of a true crime documentary.
The library will also be open for trick-or-treating from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29.
Exhibit open
“Open Space: Art About the Land” is open at Minnetrista in Muncie.
The exhibit encourages Indiana artists to take creative inspiration from the land. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. It will run through Nov. 7.
