Patriots to face off against Mississinewa Indians
The Jay County High School football team (3-6) meets the Gas City Mississinewa (6-2) at 7 p.m. Friday at Fisher Field in Gas City.

Last week vs. Heritage: Jay County allowed 31 straight points and couldn’t get its offense out of the mud in a 39-7 loss to the Heritage Patriots. Jay County pulled within one, 8-7, during the second quarter before Heritage’s outburst in the second half. Quinn Faulkner led JCHS with 71 rushing yards on 16 carries before getting injured, and Caleb Hale had 44 rushing yards. Sam Dunlavy scored the team’s only TD, a 4-yard run.
Season leaders: Passing — Sam Dunlavy – 33-of-81 for 375 yards, four touchdowns and nine interceptions. Rushing — Quinn?Faulkner – 140 carries for 998 yards and 13 touchdowns. Receiving — Quinn Faulkner – 19 catches for 145 yards and one touchdown. Defense (through seven games)— Qadon Ferrell – 61 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one blocked punt.

Last week vs. Elwood: Mississinewa scored 56 straight points en route to a 63-3 victory against the Elwood?Panthers, who are coached by former JCHS assistant and Patriot grad Michael Karn. Hayden Nelson had 110 rushing yards and a TD on four carries for the Indians, who also got 71 yards and two TDs from Carson Campbell. The Ole Miss defense held the Panthers to negative-1 yard of total offense.
Season leaders: Passing — Nolan Quaderer – 25-of-44 for 387 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions. Rushing — Carson Campbell – 83 carries for 1,203 yards and 19 touchdowns. Receiving — Peyton McPeak – eight catches for 167 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — Carson Campbell – 36 tackles, one tackle for loss and one interception.
