Norman Lee Karn, age 82, of rural Portland passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Norman was born in Niles, Michigan, on Dec. 4 , 1938, the son of Franklin Karn and Lois (Krassol) Karn. He was married on Aug. 18, 1962, to Patricia Micheau who survives.
Norman is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Indiana Glass in Dunkirk, Indiana. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Patricia; three sons, Kris Karn (wife: Brenda) of Portland, Kelly Karn of Clovis, New Mexico, and Kraig Karn (wife: Shirley) of Portland; one daughter, Kristen Sager (husband: Charles) of Redkey; one brother, Karl Karn of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Matthew Arbuckle officiating. A visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.
