Battlefield tour set for Sunday in Fort Recovery
Local historians will tour an Ohio battlefield this weekend.
Historical researcher John Winkler will lead a walk through the Fort Recovery battlefield at 3 p.m. Sunday. Winkler will be describing actions in various locations that took place during The Battle on the Wabash in 1791 and The Battle of Fort Recovery in 1794.
Headsets will be provided. Tickets are $10, with patrons of Fort Recovery State Museum joining for free. Call (419) 375-4384 to register.
Annual meeting
Jay County 4-H will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Bob Schmit Memorial Exhibition Hall at Jay County Fairgrounds.
The meeting will include voting for township representatives and learning initiatives for 2022. All adults are invited to attend.
Nominations may be submitted at the Jay County Purdue Extension office. They may also be made from the floor during the meeting.
Funding available
Grant funding is available for local agriculture supporters.
The Portland Foundation is accepting applications for its Friends of Jay County Agriculture 2021 grant cycle.
Grants are available to tax-exempt organizations operating or proposing to operate programs for the benefit of agriculture in Jay County.
Applications are available at portlandfoundation.org. The deadline is 5 p.m. Nov. 12.
