David Hoying
Obituary
David M. Hoying, age 66, of rural Portland passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at his residence.
David was born in Coldwater, Ohio, on June 23, 1955, the son of Robert Henry and Lois (Wendel) Hoying. He was married on April 19, 2003, to Rhonda Langenkamp who survives.
David worked at Teledyne Portland Forge for 48 years as a hammer operator. Portland Forge lowered its flag to half staff in honor of David and the family greatly appreciated the kind gesture. He was a 1973 Fort Recovery High School graduate, member of the Blacksmiths’ Union and member of the Fort Recovery V.F.W.
Surviving are his wife Rhonda; his mother Lois Hoying of Fort Recovery; two sons, Craig Hoying (wife: Erin) of Westfield, Indiana, and Shane Hoying of Paducah, Kentucky; one daughter, Ashley Hoying of Fishers, Indiana; two brothers, Robert Hoying (wife: Karla) of Middlepoint, Ohio, and Mark Hoying (wife: MaryAnn) of Grosse Ile, Michigan; one sister, Linda Brockman (husband: Cy Jr.) of Fort Recovery; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of David's life will take place Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Fort Recovery V.F.W.
Memorials can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
