Jay library has busy November schedule planned

Hunts, games, dogs and crafts are all on the schedule for this month.
Jay County Public Library has a variety of activities scheduled for November, including a duck hunt beginning Monday. Children can search for a variety of plastic ducks hidden around the library. They can bring the duck they find to the desk for a prize and take the duck home with them.
The month’s activities also include:
•National Games Week — Games will be placed around the library from Nov. 7 through 13.
•Children’s Book Week — The library’s Facebook page will feature interactive posts Nov. 8 through 14, with more features available at everychildareader.net/cbw.
•Paws and Pages — Children can register to read to Sonny the Chihuahua, a certified therapy dog, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Nov. 16. Those interested can register at the library, 315 N. Ship St., Portland, or by calling (260) 726-7890.
•Thanksgiving crafts will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 24, and Legos will be set up to play with from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 26.
November is also National Writing and National Family Stories Month. The library will have family story kits available Nov. 15 that will provide resources and materials to help families document their stories.
