Obituary
Byron Dornberger, 73, of Dunkirk, Indiana, passed into heaven with family by his side.
He was born Aug. 16, 1948, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Leonard and Felicia (Bruno) Dornberger. He honorably served his country, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Byron retired in 2004 from St. Gobain Glassworks. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion of Dunkirk, Indiana. He enjoyed spending his leisure time bowling and hanging out with his grandson, Quenton. He enjoyed singing and leading bible studies at Miller Merry Manor of Dunkirk, Indiana.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Debbie; sons, Tom Dornberger (April) of Dunkirk, David Dornberger (Angie) of Eaton and Nathan Harris of Dunkirk; a daughter, Serra Harris (Craig) of Muncie; four brothers, Leonard (Maria) of Dover, Delaware, Bernard of Redkey, Indiana, “AJ” (Phyllis) of Muncie, Indiana, and Jim (Deb) of Dunkirk; a sister, Antoinette Hatzell (Eric) of Redkey; four grandchildren, Quenton Harris, Zachery, Elizabeth and Samantha Dornberger; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no services at Byron’s request.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ever Heart Hospice and/or Jay County Humane Society.
