Obituary
Harold W. Hesher, age 70, a resident of Portland passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at Albany Health Care and Rehabilitation in Albany, Indiana. He was a 1971 graduate of Bryant High School and retired in 2013 after 33 years at Jay Products in Portland. He was a perfectionist when it came to his woodworking and gardening.
Harold Hesher was born Sept. 11, 1951, in Bluffton, Indiana, the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Franklin) Hesher. He was married on Jan. 5, 2016, to Becky (Williams) Willoughby.
Survivors include:
His beloved wife — Becky Hesher, Portland, Indiana
Daughter — Emily Hesher, Portland, Indiana
Stepson — Dane Willoughby, Portland
Two brothers — Don Hesher, Bluffton, Indiana, and Tom Hesher (wife: Anisa), Montpelier, Indiana
Two sisters — Anita Isch, Dunkirk, Indiana, and Jane Huffman (husband: Mike), Montpelier, Indiana
Several nieces and nephews
Harold was preceded in death by his parent’s Robert and Elizabeth Hesher; a brother, Bob Hesher; and a sister, Carol Sturgeon.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to services. Pastor Mike Harris will officiate the service and burial will follow at Alberson Cemetery, west of Geneva.
Memorials may be directed to the Jay County Cancer Society.
