Limberlost State Historic Site will host an Autumn Loblolly Wildflower Safari scheduled for Sept. 11.

The wildflower safari is set for 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve.

Visitors will join a Limberlost naturalist for a stroll along the Loblolly trails to see early autumn wildflowers in bloom. The naturalist will discuss how humans and animals use the plants.

The fee is $3 for children and $5 for adults. Participants should meet at the Loblolly preserve parking lot at 8323 N. 250 West, rural Bryant.

Activities scheduled

Jay County Public Library will host a series of events this month, including its Fall Movie Challenge.

For the challenge, which runs Sept. 7 through 30, library patrons will be asked to complete challenge cards by watching from a selection of movie genres. Those who complete at least one card — there are four to choose from — will be entered into a drawing to win a movie night basket.

The library will also host a free showing of “Luca” at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 9. Popcorn will be provided.

And a meal planning workshop with Amanda Bullion of Jay County’s Purdue Extension Office is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 30. She will discuss the meal planning process and give advice on shopping, coupons and bulk cooking.

Mother Goose will resume visits to the library at 11:30 a.m. on Fridays beginning Sept. 10. Story time at the library will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays beginning Sept. 14.
