Get ready to celebrate.
Arts Place recently announced dates and some details about its plans to celebrate its renovation and expansion project.
The arts organization will host an invitation-only dedication celebration at the Jay County Campus of Arts Place on Oct. 9. It will feature a performance by Heartland Singers.
Two events are set for the following weekend, with an opening reception and awards night for Art’s Place’s Biodiversity/Cultural Diversity Juried Art Show on Oct. 15. An open house featuring tours, demonstrations and exhibits is slated for Oct. 16.
Applications open
The Republican and Democratic parties in Indiana are accepting applications for internships for the 2022 legislative session at the Indiana Statehouse.
The internships are open to current college students and recent college graduates.
They are available in various areas, including policy, communication, fiscal analysis and others.
Those interested can apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com and indianahousedemocrats.org. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31.
Clinic scheduled
Jay County High School’s cheerleading squad will hold its cheerleading clinic for kindergarten through sixth graders next week.
The clinic will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9 at East Jay Elementary School. Registration will run from 4:15 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 8.
Participants will cheer with the high school cheerleaders during the Patriots’ football game Sept. 10 against Adams Central.
The registration fee is $30.
