A grant has been awarded to put together an exhibit about one of the battles at Fort Recovery.
The National Endowment for the Humanities announced it has awarded a $200,000 grant to Ball State University’s Applied Anthropology Laboratories to implement a traveling panel exhibit about the Battle of St. Clair’s defeat.
The Ball State lab will work with Ohio History Connection on the project, which will be called “St. Clair’s Defeat Revisited: A New View of the Conflict.” The battle took place Nov. 4, 1791 at Fort Recovery.
“This is such an important project that builds on a decade of research involving numerous Ball State, tribal, Ohio History Connection, and community collaborators,” said Christine Thompson, archaeologist and assistant director of Ball State’s Applied Anthropology Laboratories, in a press release. “It is so exciting that we have funding for this next step.”
Challenge begins
Jay County Public Library’s Fall Movie Challenge begins today and runs through?Sept. 30. Library patrons will be asked to complete challenge cards by watching from a selection of movie genres.
