Rodger Culy

Rodger Culy, age 51, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Rodger was born on March 5, 1970, in Portland, the son of Ronald and Norma Jean (Garringer) Culy. He graduated from Jay County High School. Rodger owned and operated Flat Rock Trucking in Portland. Rodger enjoyed spending time with his family, swimming, boating, riding his motorcycle and dirt bikes.

He married Melissa Ferguson on Nov. 16, 1996.

Two daughters — Ashley Culy, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Alissa Johnson (husband: Chance), Hartford City, Indiana

His mother — Norma Culy, Portland, Indiana

Two grandchildren — Colton and Ayden

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Rodger’s life will follow at 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
