Daytha Maxine Daniels, 93, of Redkey, Indiana, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, peacefully at Miller's Merry Manor in Dunkirk, Indiana.
Daytha was born in Redkey, Indiana, on April 13, 1928, a daughter of the late Kenneth Corneilius and Glenna (McCarty) Hudson. She was a 1946 graduate of Redkey High School and the widow of Gail Hiatt Daniels who she happily married on Feb. 14, 1947.
Daytha was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Portland, Indiana, Eastern Star Chapter #230, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Chapter #0159 in Hartford City, Indiana, and former member of Redkey Faith Ladies. She loved baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren, but above all things wanted to be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Daytha is survived by two sons, Robert Gail Daniels and Danny Daniels (Judy); two daughters, Kristy Helm and Shari Anderson (Mike); one brother, Bill Oblinger; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandsons; several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gail; one daughter, Darla Lou Hall; two brothers, Harold Hudson and Gene Hudson; four sisters, Anna Lee Lowry, Marjorie Hudson, Phoebe Tatman and Joy Stanley; and one granddaughter, Wendy Beck.
Friends are invited to call Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with dear friend Gene Stigleman officiating. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, Indiana. At the family's request, masks will be required of all visitors regardless of vaccination status.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel.
