Two Indiana men were hospitalized after the truck a La Fontaine man was driving hit a pole and flipped on U.S. 27 about 9:33 a.m. Tuesday.
Brian W. Snyder, 33, was traveling south on the highway near Belgian Lane in Bryant when the 1997 Chevrolet he was driving went off the west side of the road and struck a utility pole. (He told Jay County Sheriff’s Office he did not know what happened.) The truck rolled onto its top, and the pole snapped and left low-hanging power lines, according to a sheriff’s office report.
Snyder was cited with a Class A misdemeanor for driving with a suspended license. He was transported to IU Health Jay for a neck injury. His passenger, 28-year-old Trey M. Burbank of Silver Lake, was transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie for a lower leg injury.
The truck Snyder was driving is registered to RRCL of Decatur, and it was towed. Damage is estimated between $10,000 and $25,000.
