Obituary
Alexander “Alex” Toney, age 25, a resident of Hartford City, Indiana, passed away Thursday. Sept. 16, 2021, in Hartford City. He was a 2015 graduate of Jay County High School.
He was employed as a CNA at Persimmon Ridge and a home health care aide at Life Choice Home Health Care. He had also worked at Portland Forge.
Alex enjoyed his video games, listening to music and spending time with his friends.
Alexander Toney was born Aug. 31, 1996, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Michael and Stacie (Hernly) Toney.
Survivors include:
His parents — Michael and Stacie Toney, rural Hartford City
Three brothers — Aaron, Andrew and Evan Toney, all of Hartford City, Indiana
One sister — Alivia Toney, Hartford City, Indiana
Grandmother — Judy Bolton, Portland
Step-grandmother — Diane Hernly, Eaton, Indiana
His best friend — Austin Beatrice
His dog — Babbles
Several aunts and uncles
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Deanna Hernly.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Eads officiating.
