Obituary
Betty Jane Taylor, 97, of Ridgeville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Randolph Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, Indiana.
Betty was born in Decatur, Indiana, on May 20, 1924, a daughter of the late Mary (Addie) and Harry Wolfe. She was a graduate of Governor I.P. Grey School, formerly employed by Westinghouse is Union City and sold Avon to area residents for many years.
Betty was the widow of Carl F. Taylor. She was a member of St. Vincent's Hospital Auxiliary in Winchester, Indiana, and The Ridgeville American Legion Auxiliary.
Betty was a very firm woman, who loved her boys dearly, would give you the shirt off her back, a wonderful cook, loved baking, playing BINGO, listening to Elvis Presley music, watching Lawrence Welk and collecting blue glass.
She is survived by her son Bruce Taylor (wife: Cheryl); daughter-in-law Diane Taylor; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl; and son Steven Carl Taylor.
Friends are invited to call Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church in Ridgeville, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Michael J. Shannon officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Betty requested donations be made to the Ridgeville Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders.
At the request of the family, masks will be required of all visitors regardless of vaccination status.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Ridgeville Chapel.
