Barbara Jean Stahley, age 63, of Portland passed away Sept. 21, 2021, in the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
She was born on Aug. 8, 1958, the daughter of James Jackson and Marilyn Zerkel. She worked as a caregiver, was a 1976 Jay County High School graduate and was a member of The Rock Church in Portland.
Surviving are one son, Jack Nathan Stahley of Richmond, Virginia; one daughter, Kristi Stahley (John Witt) of Bryant; one brother, Doug Jackson (wife: Debbie) of Portland; two sisters, Jane Newhouse (husband: Bill) of Youngstown, Pennsylvania, and Sandy Love (Brian Taylor) of Bluffton; two grandchildren, Katie Porter and Kyler Witt; and two great-grandchildren, Carson Witt and Eli Porter.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Jackson and Marilyn Zerkel Shaneyfelt; brother Robert Jackson; and nephew Chris Jackson.
Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at 6 p.m. in The Rock Church with Pastor Matt Ransom presiding. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Memorials can be made to the Jay County Humane Society.
