It’s almost time for Harvest and Halloween.
Jay County Public Library has a variety of fall-themed activities scheduled for October.
The slate of events includes harvest story time and activities with Jay County Farm Bureau at 10 a.m. Oct. 9. Children will learn about apples, pumpkins and turkeys while participating in hands-on activities.
The library will also host Murder Mystery Mondays on Oct. 11, 18 and 25, with mystery kits available for patrons to check out. There will also be true crime quizzes, and at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 there will be a murder and mystery movie event with the showing of a true crime documentary.
The library will also be open for trick-or-treating from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29.
Story time will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, and Mother Goose will visit the library at 11:30 a.m. on Fridays.
Cherry returns
Tom Cherry’s Old Time Radio Show will launch its 10th season Saturday.
The first show of the season is at 3 p.m. Saturday at Farmland Community Center. It will feature a radio adaptation of “The Little Mermaid.”

Symphony scheduled
Muncie Symphony Orchestra will perform a live accompaniment to “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horrors” at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 as part of Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ “Historically Haunted October Series.”
“Nosferatu” is a 1922 silent film that closely mirrors Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.” The show is recommended for those 13 and older.
Tickets purchased in?September are $10 and are available at munciesymphony.org. Tickets at the door will be $20.
