CFS sponsoring meal program

Community & Family Services Head Start this week announced sponsorship of the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the policy for meals for enrolled children.
Meals are available for children who qualify based on household income levels. Children who are members of households receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, are head start participants or are foster children are automatically eligible to receive free meal benefits.
Eligibility guidelines are in effect through June 30.

Internships available
Applications are open to serve as an intern at the Indiana Statehouse.
The Republican and Democratic parties in Indiana are accepting applications for internships for the 2022 legislative session.
The internships are open to current college students and recent college graduates. They are available in various areas, including policy, communication, fiscal analysis and others.
Those interested can apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com and indianahousedemocrats.org. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31.
Class available
The Jay County Campus of Arts Place is offering an ArtWorks class designed for homeschooled elementary school students.
The class, which would fulfill the students art curriculum, is open for registration. Students will learn about different art techniques, art history, art tools and the basics of drawing, painting and sculpting with artist Lindsay Edwards.
The cost is $130 and scholarships are available. Classes are scheduled to begin Sept. 30 and will run from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. through Dec. 2.
Registration is available online at artsland.org, by calling (260) 726-4809 or at the Jay County Campus, 131 E. Walnut St., Portland.
