Larry Mannix

Larry Alan Mannix, 69, Hartford City, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1951, in Hartford City to Therman Nemore Mannix and Luella May (Welbaum) Mannix. Both parents preceded him in death.
Larry graduated from Blackford High School in 1970 and went on to attend Indiana Wesleyan University as well as Ivy Tech Community College where he earned certifications in computer repair and service, welding and medical equipment maintenance.
He married Donna Mae Binegar on April 6, 1973, at the First Baptist Church in Dunkirk, Indiana.
Larry and Donna ran The Mannix Honey Farm Food Truck and attended numerous festivals around the state of Indiana for 19 years. They also ran the Mannix Greenhouse in Dunkirk, Indiana, from 1992 to 2005. Larry has worked at the Chrysler automotive plant in Kokomo for the last eight years as an electrician.
Larry was a jack of all trades, but at heart he was a welder. He enjoyed building things — he even built the Mannix Honey Farms Food Trailer. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and ice fishing as well as shooting, however his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Donna Mae Mannix of Hartford City; daughter Gina Mae (husband: Richard) Raines of Dunkirk, Indiana; grandchildren Allyssa Raines, Nicolas Raines, Lucy Raines, Ava LeMaster, Gabby LeMaster and Lucas Raines; great-grandchild Remedy Johnson; siblings Lyle Dean (wife: Cathy) of Hartford City, Lynn Thomas (wife: Shirley) Mannix of Millgrove, Timothy Dwayne (wife: Carol) Mannix of Marion, Theda Mae (husband: Paul) Dixon of Muncie, Tona Lea (husband: Glenn) Riggs of Wabash and Tara Dian Mannix of Upland; several nieces and nephews
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for will be Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, at the Hartford City First Church of the Nazarene, 1402 W. Water St. Hartford City, Indiana, from 2 to 6 p.m. and Monday Oct. 4, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Funeral services for Larry will be at the Hartford City First Church of the Nazarene on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steve High officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Eaton, Indiana.
