Robert Corn

Robert C. Corn, age 83, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at his home.

Robert was born on July 11, 1939, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Marcus and Sylvia (Parker) Corn. He graduated from Gaston High School in 1958 and retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 28 1/2 years of service. He attended Evangelical Methodist Church in Portland.

Robert married Linda Barrett in 1961 and she passed away on June 1, 2021.

Survivors include:

Four children: Jerry Corn, Selma, Indiana, Gary Corn (wife: Mary), Redkey, Indiana, Jeff Corn, Redkey, Indiana, and Barbara Mullins-Johns (husband: Roger), Dunkirk, Indiana

Seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Teresa Corn.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.

Memorials may be directed towards St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
