Mildred Denton

Mildred (Barker) Denton, 95, of Union City was welcomed into Heaven by her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on April 18, 2023.

She was predeceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Barker.

She was married Dewey Denton on Dec. 30, 1946. He who went to Heaven in 2010. Her son Dewey Gene Denton joined his father in 2011.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Sue Caldwell of Union City, also daughter Patty Starr (husband: Duane), daughter Debra Nixon (husband: Ed); son Ken Denton (wife: Sidney Rene), all of Portland; 22 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Dessie Fox of Asheville, North Carolina; and three sisters-in-law, Jackie Barker, Nancy Tope and Charlotte Montgomery. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son; and four brothers, Paul, Hershal, Kenneth and Charles Barker; and two sisters, Edna May Barker and Delores Barker.

She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Mildred attended Randolph Friends Church in rural Ridgeville.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Randolph Friends Church, 6531 N. 300 West., Ridgeville, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Pastor Jonathon Edwards will officiate and burial will follow at Salem Baptist Cemetery in Greensfork, Indiana.

Memorials may be directed to Everheart Hospice or Randolph Friends Church.
