Roger Waltz
March 28, 1929-April 25, 2023
Roger L. Waltz, age 94, of Wabash, Indiana, since 2004 and formerly of Portland passed away Tuesday morning April 25, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Randolph County, Indiana, on March 28, 1929, he was the son of Trenton and Edna (Steiner) Waltz. He was married on Feb. 10, 1950, to Patricia Ann Heston who survives.
Roger owned and operated Waltz Music Shop and Woodcraft Memory Lanes in Portland for many years. He was a member of the West Walnut Street Church of Christ and Asbury Country Church in Wabash where he was an organist. He was a member of Kiwanis, Farmland Gospel Team and a 1948 Saratoga High School graduate, and did piano tuning and worked on sewing machines.
Surviving are his wife Patricia; two daughters, Karen Johnson (husband: Rick) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Teresa Bunnell (husband: Barrie) of Wabash, Indiana; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bullick presiding. Burial will follow in the Reitenour Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
