Jerry Vore

Jerry Vore, age 72, of rural Portland passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at his residence.

He was born in Decatur, Indiana, on Jan. 4, 1951, the son of LeRoy and Mildred Myrle (Stevens) Vore. Jerry was self-employed selling cars and owning houses, and he also had worked for International Harvester. He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church, attended Berne French Schools and worked on old cars.

Surviving are his son Troy Vore (wife: Sherry) of Portland; two brothers, Joe Vore (wife: Barbara) of Berne and Jay Vore (wife: Geezy) of Syracuse; one sister, Janet Wagner of Florida; and two grandsons, Dustin and Kelsey Vore.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Ward presiding. Burial will follow in the Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m.
