Hit pump
A rural Portland woman crashed her car into a gas pump while attempting to turn around in the Portland Pak-A-Sak parking lot about 10:53 a.m. Tuesday.
Shyann K. Farris, 22, was driving her 1994 Chevrolet GMT400 when she tried to turn in the parking lot at 1000 N. Meridian St. As she turned, she struck the pump with the front passenger side of her car, causing between $1,000 and $2,500 in estimated damage.
Rear crash
Several people were injured after a Portland woman crashed the car she was driving into the back of a car an Ohio man was driving along Indiana 67 about 5:27 p.m. Tuesday.
Kaylee J. Scheumann, 32, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox northeast on the highway just east of county road 700 West behind a 2014 Ford Explorer occupied by driver Donte J. Brown, 45, Lima, and passenger Wynthia O. Brown, 63, Lima. Donte Brown was slowing down to make room for a car in front of them to turn, and Scheumann didn’t notice before hitting the back of Brown’s vehicle, according to a Jay County Sheriff’s Office report.
Donte Brown complained of arm pain, Wynthia Brown complained of back pain and Scheumann complained of leg pain.
Damage is estimated between $10,000 and $25,000.
