William R. Loper, age 58, of Winchester, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at his residence.
He was born in Portland on Oct. 4, 1964, the son of Robert and Hedwig (Schumacher) Loper. He was married to Sherry Farber who survives.
Bill worked for Gold Shield in Decatur, was a member of Portland Eagles Lodge and graduated from Jay County High School. He enjoyed going to the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show, Vintage Motor Bike Show and going fishing.
Surviving are his wife Sherry; mother Hedy Loper of Portland; daughter Martha Loper of Portland; brothers Don Loper (wife: Patti) of Portland, Gary Loper (wife: Shannon) of Springville, Indiana, and Jason Loper (wife: Toni) of Ridgeville; sister Amy Blackburn (husband: Trent) of Bluffton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Dull.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 25, at noon in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Fr. Marty Sandhage presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
