Nominations are open for the youth worker of the year award.
Indiana Youth Institute’s 2023 D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year Award annually recognizes one extraordinary youth worker for their positive impact on Indiana’s children and youth, according to a press release from the organization. Recipients of the award exemplify a commitment to improving the lives of all Indiana’s children and youth.
Nominees must be an Indiana youth worker who provides direct services to children and youth and have at least five years of service in youth work. Nominations are due by 6 p.m. June 16.
Class reunion
Jay County High School’s Class of 1978 is planning a reunion next month.
The class will celebrate with activities from July 7 to July 9. Items on the agenda include dinner from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 7 at the Dunkirk Elks Lodge, breakfast at 9 a.m. July 8 at IDC Pennville Restaurant, a golf outing and shopping tour, a carry in lunch July 8 at Redkey Faith Ministries, an evening get-together from 7p.m. to 11 p.m. July 8 at Wheel and Spoke Event Center in Portland and a visit to the Jay County Fair starting at 1 p.m. July 9 at the Farmers Building.
Dean’s list
Wabash College recently announced its dean’s list recipients for the spring semester.
Cooper Jacks and Dylan Racster, both of Portland, made the list, which requires students to maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher.
