Rocky Allen Patterson, 67, of Dunkirk, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, peacefully at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Rocky was born in Portland, Indiana, on May 6, 1956, a son of the late Shirley Anne (Towne) and Howard Allen Patterson. He was a former student of Dunkirk High School and was formerly employed in Assembly at Franklin Electric in Bluffton, Indiana.
Rocky attended Glad Tidings Church in Dunkirk, Indiana, and enjoyed fishing, riding his bicycle, walking at the Muncie Mall, yearly trips to the ocean, watching the Miami Dolphins and Indiana University basketball, and listening to his favorite band, Journey.
He will be remembered as a very dedicated, determined, hardworking and outspoken man who loved to tease and never knew a stranger.
Rocky is survived by one son, Jeremy Patterson; one daughter, Devon Weaver (Matt); three brothers, Brad Patterson (Jackie), Shannon Patterson and Montey Patterson (Deneen); one sister, Marita Workman (Ted); and three grandchildren, Lori Moon, Kaelyn Weaver and Landon Weaver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Howard Patterson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon at MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel. A celebration of life service will follow at noon. Burial will be held at a later date in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
