To the editor:
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the successful and impactful Haute Harvest High Fashion Show held on June 3 at Sapphires Reception Hall in Portland, Indiana.
This event, presented by Enario Studio and coordinated by Darlesia Lee, showcased not only the latest fashion trends but also aimed to address crucial issues affecting our community.
With Adams Physical Therapy as the presenting sponsor and Medler’s Furniture, Jay County Visitors and Tourism Bureau, Around The World Candy Store and Pizza King of Portland as platinum sponsors, the Haute Harvest High Fashion Show was able to create a platform for dialogue on topics such as substance abuse, depression, suicide and fostering community unity.
The event featured remarkable fashion collections from Vivi’s Fashion, Artesania Letty, Closet Update and Marked Clothing Company. Moreover, it brought together various forms of art and entertainment, including Neveah’s interpretive dance performance from Winchester, live artists So original Adrian Pryde Rawk and Buku Love from Orlando, Florida, and the flavorful cuisine of Legacy Village West African Cuisine from Muncie, Indiana.
The show, curated by local resident Darlesia Lee, wife of John Lee and a proud graduate of Jay County High School, proved to be a transformative experience. Laughter, authentic conversations, hugs, tears and breakthrough moments were shared among the attendees, leaving no one untouched by the event’s powerful message.
I want to extend my gratitude to all the sponsors, vendors, artists and individuals who contributed to the success of the Haute Harvest High Fashion Show. Their support made it possible to create an environment where differences were celebrated, and barriers were broken down, fostering a stronger and more unified Jay County.
Sincerely,
Darlesia Lee
