Amanda Jane May, age 55, of Portland passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, in IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born in Portland on Aug. 8, 1967, the daughter of Tom L. and Cathy Anne (Ferguson) Baldauf. She was married on Aug. 5, 2022, to Derek May who survives.
Amanda worked at the Eagles Lodge in Portland, was a 1985 Jay County High School graduate and loved her family, kids and grandkids.
Surviving are her husband Derek; three sons, Caleb Fennig (wife: Jodie) of Union City, Indiana, Jared Fennig of Union City, Indiana, and Luke Fennig of Union City, Indiana; her parents, Thomas L. and Cathy Anne Baldauf of Portland; one sister, Anne Byers (husband: Ron) of Redkey; and two grandsons, Noah and Branch.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 16, 2023, at 7 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Borders presiding. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorials can be made to Jay County Humane Society.
